Let me re-word what I said...
I don't think anyone in the Middle East wants to be over there. Of course
they would rather be home, but I don't think you will find a person over
there (including your family) that would say things are worse for the people
now, than before the Americans came in..The fact of the matter is we have
improved their way of life dramatically, at the same time creating an ally
country to "stage" in to fight the other terrorist countries (ie. Iran).
Did we need to go to Iraq?? I don't know, if we hadn't gone into Iraq would
the terrorist have been better trained and attacked us here again??? There's
no way to know. If Bush did make a reason to go into Iraq, why did he do
it? What did he have to gain? I just don't see why he would have made up a
reason to go into Iraq? If you are gonna tell me for Oil, I hope you have
some pretty good evidence and reasoning.
With all that said, I'm NOT saying we didn't have good reason...If, during a
time when the President was under a great deal of pressure (because of the
attacks), he made a decision based on intelligence that he thought was
valid, then I'd say he acted correctly. Remember many parties agreed the
intelligence pointed to WMD in Iraq, not just Bush flunkies. If it is proven
that he had something to gain and he did act with blatant disregard for
America, then of course he should go down in history as evil. But I haven't
seen anything that tells me he had anything to gain by going into Iraq, on a
personal level.
